What's In E-Juice?

Current scientific studies have identified hundreds of chemicals in the vapes. Some of these chemicals are toxic, may cause cancer, or harm your health. Chemicals and toxins found in vapes may include:

  • Propylene glycol is a synthetic liquid substance that absorbs water. It is also one of the main ingredients in e-juice. It's a solvent in paint and plastics, and also used in theatre in smoke or fog machines. Short-term exposure can lead to irritations in the eyes, throat, and airways. Long-term exposure can increase the chances of developing asthma and other respiratory illnesses.
  • Formaldehyde is a colourless, flammable, strong smelling carcinogenic chemical used for preserving dead bodies, building materials like press-wood products, and fuel-burning appliances.
  • Nitrosonornicotine is an oily, yellow, carcinogenic chemical substance. It occurs from the heating or burning of nicotine. This chemical can cause the development of cancer in the stomach, nose and esophagus.
  • Acrolein is a colourless, toxic liquid chemical. It irritates the skin, eyes, and nose.
  • Toluene is a poisonous industrial solvent and a gasoline additive. It is also a volatile organic compound. Breathing this chemical will affect the central nervous system. Toluene can result in fatigue, sleepiness, headaches, nausea, eye irritation, sore throat, and dizziness. It will also cause the limbs of unborn babies to grow abnormally
  • Lead is a material in construction, plumbing, batteries, bullets, weights, paints, and gasoline. Lead is very toxic and harmful to humans and animals.
  • Benzene is a key chemical found in pesticides, gasoline, car exhaust, and in burning coal.
  • Isoprene is one of the major components in both natural and synthetic rubber. This chemical comes from plants and trees, as well as car exhaust.
  • Nicotine is the most addictive drug on earth! It is both a stimulant and a depressant. When nicotine reaches the brain, it increases the levels of dopamine. Dopamine triggers the pleasure receptors in your brain. This toxic chemical is one of the main ingredients in traditional cigarettes and cigars. It's also often found in vapes. Exposure to nicotine also affects the nervous system, the heart, and the stomach.
  • Cadmium is a toxic heavy metal found in car batteries. It's also in the air where fossil fuels like coal and oil are burnt, or at a garbage plant where they burn city waste.
The list goes on. These are some of these chemicals known to harm people. These chemicals can be dangerous to human health if inhaled or ingested. The flavours may seem appealing, but the rest of the e-liquid definitely is not!
Did you know:
  • Drinking e-liquid nicotine can result in nicotine poisoning, especially with children.
  • Delivered in high doses, nicotine can be lethal. Contact with e-liquids can cause harmful health effects. Ingesting e-liquids can lead to death.
