Positive body image and healthy self-esteem are important to our health and wellbeing. The media, people around us, and popular culture all influence our body image. Today we are exposed to many images that show that being thin as a female and muscular as a male are a standard of beauty, elegance, and masculinity. Television, magazines, movies, and social media sites are full of these images.
